From his Son's Henry Llewelyn Roberts Death Notice
The deceased was the son of the late John Roberts, who was present at the battle of Waterloo in 1815, being employed in the commissariat department.
Eight years later he (John Roberts) came to Hobart with his wife and family, and was chief clerk in the commissariat department here.
Arrived in Sydney aboard the ship "David Shaw" in 1818 from London - ? with his wife and family and at least 3 brothers
1823 he came to Hobart - he was in NSW Commissariat prior to moving to Hobart and working in the Tasmanian Commissariat. His death notice has his occupation as Brewer..

Cornelian Bay cemetery was opened in 1872 after the four in-town cemeteries were condemned as health hazards. Some, but not all previous graves were moved to Cornelian Bay.

Story of an Assigned Convict
Ann Wilson, sentenced to Life following conviction of ‘Larceny of Person’ in Middlesex, arrived in Van Diemans Land on the ship Morley
in 1820 when she was 22 years old. She became a difficult young woman in the convict settlements of Hobart, Launceston and inland over the next 16 years.
She was assigned to 21 masters over the years and caused them a lot of grief which led her to being charged with 32 offences – many served in cells in solitary confinement, bread and water for 7 to 14 days, in stocks for hours and wearing an iron collar.
19/6/1832 Working for Mrs Roberts, “Drunk at the time her Master, John Llewellyn Roberts, was lying dead.” To be placed in a solitary cell for 10 days and afterwards in one of the new working yards for one month.
